Regular servicing can help to keep your car running smoothly and safely while identifying potential problems early on, reducing the risk of more serious and costly problems in the future. In the time interval between services, you can always carry out DIY servicing and maintenance to keep your car healthy.
When is my car service due?
You can check when your vehicle was last serviced in its service history which is usually in your service book. If you don't have this, you can simply contact the centre where it is usually serviced and ask them for the records.
Check your vehicle log book to see when you last received a servicing stamp.
Your vehicle manufacturer will suggest an appropriate interval or number of miles travelled until your next recommended service in your hand book. Many modern cars feature on-board computers which keep track of when your car service is due. Drivers who own cars with self-diagnostic features like these are advised not to ignore these warning signs even if they occur before 12 months or 12,000 miles have been reached.
